Management Concepts: A DNN Website on a Load-Balanced Cloud

Management Concepts website cover for our DNN Evoq design and development case study

Project overview: a training company's public website

Management Concepts trains public sector professionals. We designed and developed their website on DNN Evoq, hosted it on a private cloud in a load-balanced web farm, and stayed on for enterprise support, DNN training, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

About Management Concepts

Management Concepts provides training, career development, and performance improvement for public sector professionals. People come to the site for consulting, certificate programs, and courses organized by topic.

What we designed and built

We designed and developed the Management Concepts website on DNN Evoq, the content management system formerly called DotNetNuke. DNN runs on Microsoft .NET. A skin is the design layer: layout, typography, and templates that make the training catalog look like Management Concepts, while staff publish pages in the CMS.

We hosted the site on a private cloud, load balanced across a web farm, so traffic is spread across more than one server. After launch we continued with enterprise support and maintenance, keeping the site up and performing.

The engagement also included DNN development, DNN skinning, DNN training for the people who run the site, and Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

What the website has to carry

  • Consulting. Visitors need a clear path into the advisory work, separate from the course catalog.
  • Certificate programs and training by topic. The catalog is the product. Courses have to be findable, and staff have to be able to add and retire them.
  • Proof. Success stories are published with the courses so a buyer can see the work.
  • The CRM. Microsoft Dynamics CRM holds the customer record. The public site and that system have to agree on who is inquiring and who is enrolled.
