About In Defense of Christians

In Defense of Christians (IDC) advocates for Christians in the Middle East. The organization's goals are to unite the diaspora around that advocacy, to help the public understand what those communities face, and to advance policies that help them survive and flourish.

A website that can carry the mission

An advocacy organization lives on its website: the explanation of the issue, the path for members and chapters, and the calls to act. IDC needed that site to be clear, to work on a phone, and to be something the organization could update without a developer for every change.

What we designed and built

We designed and developed the website on WordPress. WordPress is the CMS and the publishing tool. The engagement used the full set of services around that build:

• Strategy and analytics. What the site is for, and how to see whether people are finding it.
• User experience and visual design. A path through awareness, membership, and advocacy that a first-time visitor can follow.
• Mobile support. The same site on a phone, where much of that reading happens.
• Cloud hosting. The site runs in the cloud, with support and maintenance after launch.

What the site is organized to do

• Awareness. Explain the situation in language a general audience can follow.
• Members and chapters. Give people who are already involved a place to land.
• Advocacy. Point visitors toward the policy work, in the same design as the rest of the site.
