We did content management work for the U.S. Department of State's public website as a subcontractor to Buchanan-Edwards, the prime contractor, from about 2010 to 2015, with a team of about five to ten people. The site is how the department publishes news, statements from the Secretary of State, and public diplomacy content to the world.

The U.S. Department of State leads American foreign policy and diplomacy. Its public website, state.gov, is where it publishes news, statements and travel from the Secretary of State, media resources, and public diplomacy content for audiences in the United States and around the world.
Our role on the program
Buchanan-Edwards was the prime contractor. It held the contract and led the program. We were the subcontractor. Our people worked inside the Buchanan-Edwards team and helped deliver the content management work.

Our project was content management for the Department of State's public website, including the sections for the Secretary of State, media, and public diplomacy.
A site at this level publishes every day. Statements, news, and travel updates go out on tight deadlines, and each one has to appear correctly, look consistent, and be easy to find.

Federal websites have to meet accessibility requirements, follow the agency's security rules, and go through formal review before changes go live. Content often has several approvers, and the site has to stay up when the world is paying attention.
We followed the prime's process and the program's rules, and kept the work easy to review so Buchanan-Edwards could stand behind it with the department.
